Miscreants loot jewellery from store on gun point in Udala

Baripada: Gold ornaments amounting to some lakhs were looted at gun point from Kalinga Jewellery in Udala of Mayurbhanj district on Monday.

While the jewellery store is situated just 200 metres away from Udala police station, three miscreants arrived there on a bike at around 7.30 pm on Monday and entered the shop after exploding a bomb in front of it.

The miscreants first shot salesman Sukant Behera, who sustained bullet injuries on his chest, and fled away with the jewellery.

Meanwhile, Sukant is undergoing treatment at Baripada hospital. Two persons were also arrested by Kaptipada police in this connection.
