Those critically injured have reportedly been shifted to SCB Medical College and Hospital in Cuttack.
The impact of the accident was such that the SUV was completely mangled and all eight occupants aboard died on the spot. The bike rider was also killed.
The bus named Anupama had approximately 30 passengers on board when the mishap occurred. The bus was en route to Rourkela from Bhubaneswar.
A woman died and eight others were injured after the school bus they were travelling in met with an accident at Mantriamba ghat under Baipariguda Police limits in Koraput district on Tuesday.
Meanwhile, the driver of the bus has been detained and further investigation is being carried out by police in connection with the accident.
As per reports, four persons in the pickup truck lost their lives and nine others were seriously injured in the mishap that occurred at around 10:30am on Sunday morning.
Following the accident, Majhi was rushed to Umerkote Hospital and was discharged after primary treatment, sources said.
Sources said, the tourists from West Bengal’s Bankura had been to Puri. The incident occurred while they were on their way back home. Midway the vehicle’s tyre burst, leading to the mishap.
Police along with locals rescued several persons living nearby the factory. As per the information, at least 100 homes located near the factory have been vacated to ensure the safety of people.

As per reports, the marriage party bus was en route to Jajpur from Jamshedpur in Jharkhand carrying around 40 baraatis. On the way, the bus rear-ended a stationery truck near Tata on National Highway 220.
The bus was reportedly en route to Puri with 45 tourists from Gudari in Rayagada district who were being taken by the Odisha government to the pilgrim town to visit the newly-inaugurated Srimandir Parikrama Project.
