Beijing: At least seven people were killed and 15 remained missing on Wednesday when heavy rain from the previous day continued in China's Yunnan province, local authorities said.

In Changning county, two people were killed and five are missing after torrential rain caused landslides in the townships of Tianyuan and Mangshui. Thirty-five houses collapsed while 119 houses were damaged, Xinhua reported.

In Huaping county, rain triggered floods that killed five and injured 15. The floods also led to ten people going missing, caused 810 houses to collapse and swept away 610 cars.

Residents are being relocated while rescuers continue to search for the missing.
