Los Angeles: White House gatecrasher Michaele Salahi is in news again. This time for walking out on her husband Tareq with a member of a music band, leaving him "devastated".

The couple who became infamous after they gatecrashed into Barack Obama`s State Dinner for Prime Minister Manmohan Singh in November 2009, might be headed for a split or rather are in the middle of another publicity stunt, as many observers feel.

The news that Michaele, a castmember of `Real Housewives of DC` had made her way to Memphis with Journey lead guitarist Neal Schon came after a drama-filled day during which her husband Tareq reported that she had been abducted, sobbed on television for his missing wife, and ended up "devastated" on learning that she had actually eloped.

The drama started when Tareq reported Michaele missing late Tuesday night, telling law enforcement that his wife had been missing for six hours.

He said Michaele had called from an Oregon number to tell him she was on her way to her mother`s house but after talking to his mother-in-law, who told Tareq she was not sure what was up with Michaele, he feared a kidnapping."I swear to God," Tareq told NBC, denying that the kidnap report was a publicity stunt. "I`m missing my wife," said a sobbing and teary Tareq.

The police in Virginia issued a statement yesterday, making it clear that Michaele was fine and had left "with a good friend and was where she wanted to be".

However, Tareqwas not convinced. "She`s being forced to say this to the local authorities," he said. The plot took another turn when it was finally reported that Michaele had actually run off with guitarist Schon.

However, some believed it was a stunt because the episode came just ahead of a scheduled auction of the assets of Oasis Vineyards -- a winery owned by the Salahis which filed for bankruptcy in 2008.
