The pro-government forces backed by Saudi Arabia also continued their operations against al-Qaida militants in other southern areas, according to the official.
The battle in Harad erupted days after the Houthi militia drove the government army out of the city, killing more than 60 soldiers and wounding 140 others, according to the military sources.
The Iran-allied Houthis control much of al-Jawf's strategic areas and the government forces are attempting to expel the rebels out of the province.
The operations also destroyed 20 military vehicles and drone control units, reports Xinhua news agency.
The battles raging between the Saudi-backed Yemeni government forces and the Houthi militia continued to expand elsewhere in the war-ravaged Arab country, despite international calls for de-escalation, according to the official.
Meanwhile, the coalition said it carried on Tuesday 43 operations, killing 134 Houthis.
