The regional centre of IMD in Bhubaneswar has predicted more rains for the State from September 18 as a fresh cyclonic circulation may develop over north Bay of Bengal.

Meanwhile, the MeT office has issued 'yellow warning' for 24 district for today while orange warning has been issued for eight districts for the next 24 hours in view of the rainfall activities. 

The districts are expected to witness rainfall under the influence of a cyclonic circulation which is lying over south Bangladesh and adjoining North Bay of Bengal, the IMD predicted.

The country as a whole recorded a rainfall of 8.9 mm, which was 71 per cent less than its long period average rainfall of 30.4 mm. It was also the third-lowest precipitation in March since 1901 after 7.2 mm in 1909 and 8.7 mm in 1908.

Several districts in Odisha are likely to witness rainfall on Wednesday (February 16) owing up to a western disturbance, informed Bhubaneswar Centre of India Meteorological department on Sunday.
