In a horrifying stampede incident, at least 151 people were killed and over 80 sustained injuries at a Halloween event in South Korea’s Seoul last night (Oct 29). As per reports, close to one lakh people had surged at a narrow alley near Itaewon for first unmasked Halloween celebrations since Covid.
President Yoon Suk-yeol, who presided over an emergency meeting on the stampede, ordered officials to swiftly administer first aid and treat the injured, the presidential office said.
The launches came just hours before South Korea was set to hold an event marking the Armed Forces Day with its key military assets on display.
