It’s time to bid adieu to the winters. Basant Panchami, which marks the arrival of spring season, was celebrated with much fervour across the country today. Basant Panchami is also the day people worship the goddess of knowledge, Maa Saraswati. Preparations for Holi also begin on this auspicious day in parts of India.

A few students of Saraswati Sishu Vidya Mandir (SSVM) at Unit-8 offered ‘pushpanjali’ at the school while worshipping their individual idols and chanting mantras.

President Ram Nath Kovind, Vice-President Venkaiah Naidu and Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Saturday greeted people on the occasion of 'Saraswati Puja' and 'Basant Panchami' marking the arrival of spring season.

Apart from revising the timing of night curfew in all urban areas, the State government has issued certain restrictions on the observance of several festivals including Saraswati puja, Magha Saptami/ Magha Purnima.
