A youth allegedly duped several persons to the tune of Rs 15 lakh on fake promise of providing them jobs. The incident has been reported from Nuasahi area under Mohana block in Gajapati district. Accused Mark Pradhan, introduced himself as Ashish Pradhan, had set up Holiness Women’s Welfare Foundation.
He collected Rs 5000 to Rs 6000 from jobseekers promising them jobs of block coordinators and panchayat coordinators in Digapahandi, Hinjilicut, Aska, Shergarh and Patrapur blocks in Ganjam districts, sources informed.
Thakur was referring to the arrest of West Bengal Commerce and Industries Minister Partha Chatterjee by ED in connection with the recruitment irregularities in West Bengal School Service Commission (WBSSC) when he was the state Education Minister.
Chatterjee, who has several health issues, was admitted to the ICCU of the state-run SSKM Hospital hours after the senior minister was remanded to two-day ED custody by a city court.
