Retired employees reengaged should not have been covered under the safety related retirement scheme (LARGESS).
Essential eligibility criteria for short listing the candidates is as follows:
Candidate (i) should be normally retired railway employee of the same category trade, (ii) he should not have been compulsorily retired or removed/terminated, (iii) Should be medically fit for the category for which applying for medical fitness of the appropriate category should be obtained from the designated railway medical authority of the division.
All the retired employees who have not achieved 64 years 6 months on the closing date of notification (to ensure at least six months service is available after re-engagement) for re-engagement purpose will be eligible.
Monthly remuneration of a retired employee being reengaged be determined by reducing pension from his/her last pay drawn (i.e. Basic Pay + DA)
Re-engaged staff should be discharged immediately without any notice on joining of selected candidates from RRBs etc or on completion of 65 years or in case of unsatisfactory service, whichever is earlier.
Applications already submitted in response to earlier notification of this office dated May 25, 2018 shall also be considered. Hence no need to reapply.

Educational Qualification:
A candidate must have passed Matric/10th class examination or its equivalent (under 10+2 examination system) with minimum 50% marks in aggregate from a recognized Board and ITI in relevant trade (i.eNational Trade Certificate in the notified trade issued by National Council for Vocational Training or Provisional Certificate issued by National Council for Vocational Training/State Council for Vocational Training).
Age Limit:
Applicants' age should be between 15 and 24 years as on January 30, 2018. However, the upper age limit is relaxable for following specified categories to the extent indicated below:
i) By 5 years for candidates belonging to SC/ST communities.
ii) By 3 years for candidates belonging to OBC communities.
iii) For Persons with Disabilities(PWD) -10 years for UR, 13 years for OBC and 15 years for SC/ST candidates.

Selection Process:
Selection for Apprenticeship training will be on the basis of merit list prepared in respect of all the candidates who apply against the notification for a particular Division/Unit.
The merit list will be prepared taking the average of the %age marks obtained by the candidates in both Matriculation (with minimum 50% (aggregate marks) and ITI examination giving equal weightage to both. For the purpose of calculation of percentage of matriculation, marks obtained by the candidates in all subjects will be reckoned and not on the basis of marks of any subject or a group of subjects.
