Chief economist of Food and Agriculture Organization of the United Nations in Rome, Maximo Torero said that global access to food is hampered by the rocketing prices.
The steep rise in vegetable prices in the state has pinched a hole in the pocket of the consumers. As per reports, since the onset of the holy 'Kartik' month, the prices of vegetables have increased significantly, as people opt for more vegetables compared to non-vegetarian food items during this period.
