How To Apply
Nine security personnel were also injured in the pre-dawn gunfight near an Army camp in Sunjwan area on the outskirts of Jammu.
Director General of Police (DGP) Dilbag Singh, who visited the encounter site, said the two terrorists were part of a suicide squad of Pakistan-based JeM and their infiltration could be a "big conspiracy" to sabotage the prime minister's visit to Jammu and Kashmir.
According to initial investigation, the two terrorists entered the outskirts of Jammu city on Thursday after infiltrating from the international border in R S Pura sector and were staying in a locality close to the Sunjwan Army camp.
"Last night, police and other forces were involved in an operation which culminated... As per reports, the two terrorists were part of JeM's suicide squad, launched from Pakistan and tasked with targeting a camp of the security forces or engaging... to inflict a lot of casualties," the DGP told reporters near the scene of the encounter.
The terrorists were wearing suicide vests and were also equipped with a huge quantity of arms and ammunition, indicating that they had come to inflict heavy casualties on security forces.
"The encounter took place two days ahead of the prime minister's visit. It is part of a big conspiracy to disturb the peaceful atmosphere of Jammu and it could be a big conspiracy to sabotage the visit," Singh said, adding "it is good that we got timely inputs and the operation was concluded successfully."
The operation began around 4.25 am on Friday when the two terrorists, who were apparently moving towards the Army camp, were spotted by the guards who were changing duties, the officials said.
Around the same time, a CISF bus carrying 15 personnel was proceeding towards the Jammu airport, which is being guarded by the paramilitary force. Apparently, in a knee-jerk reaction, the two terrorists lobbed a grenade towards the bus and sprayed it with bullets before escaping back into the nearby locality, prompting the security forces to lay a cordon around the area.
A senior Central Industrial Security Force officer said the terrorists fired at the bus and lobbed grenades, killing Assistant Sub-Inspector (ASI) S P Patel and injuring two other occupants. The force retaliated effectively.
Later in a tweet, the CISF said its personnel were attacked by terrorists while going for an ongoing cordon and search operation.
According to the police, the gunfight began when the terrorists opened fire on the search party.
The officials said nine security personnel, including two policemen, were injured in the gunfight. A CISF personnel and a police personnel sustained grievous injuries.
As the CISF troops retaliated, the terrorists fled and entered the house of Mahommad Anwar, they said.
The security forces zeroed in on the house and killed one of the terrorists while he was moving towards the bathroom, where his associate had taken shelter, they said.
Efforts to neutralise the second terrorist took longer. He was killed in heavy gunfire and grenade hits, they said, adding the entire gunfight lasted a little over five hours.
On the identity of the slain terrorists, DGP Singh said an investigation is on but prima facie, it looks that the two were Pakistani nationals and had freshly infiltrated into this side from Pakistan. They have no history of terror activities in Jammu and Kashmir, he said.
The DGP said three weapons along with a lot of grenades were recovered from the possession of the slain terrorists.
They fired rifle grenades and some more security personnel were also injured after the initial casualties, he said, ruling out the presence of a third terrorist.
Responding to a question about local support to the terrorists, Singh said, "We have certain leads and we are working on them."
Two AK-47 rifles, an Under Barrel Grenade Launcher and a satellite phone were recovered from the slain terrorists, the police said.
Mobile internet services were suspended and schools in the vicinity of the encounter site were closed for the day as a precautionary measure.
On February 10 in 2018, three JeM terrorists stormed the Sunjwan Army camp and in the subsequent gunfight, seven people, including six soldiers, were killed. All the three terrorists were also gunned down.
On National Panchayati Raj Day on April 24, the prime minister is scheduled to visit Samba's Pali village, 17 km from here, to address a gathering.
This will be Modi's first visit to Jammu and Kashmir other than borders since the abrogation of the special status of the erstwhile state and its bifurcation in August 2019.
He had celebrated Diwali with Army jawans on October 27, 2019 in Rajouri and on November 3, 2021 in Nowshera sector in Jammu division.
Speaking at the 53rd Raising Day of the Force here, he said the journey of economic growth was not impossible without the contribution of the CISF. "We are thankful for their support and contribution," he said.
"I will urge the CISF DG to prepare the roadmap for next five years and also for 25 years when India will celebrate the 100 years of Independence," Shah said.
He also said that the private security agencies have been growing at a fast pace and the CISF needs to take the responsibility to train them in a professional manner.
"CISF alone cannot provide security to all industrial sectors, therefore, the private agencies should also be trained in a professional manner", the Home Minister said.
He also said that the CISF needs to develop a hybrid model of industrial security in the country with the participation of the private sector.
Noting that the CISF is the only Force in the world that is dedicated to industries only, he further said that they need to ensure safety from the drone threats to the industries located in the coastal areas. He also informed that the Border Security Force and DRDO are developing the anti-drone technology and they should also line up with them to get this technology.
Speaking on the women security personnel in the force, Shah also said that there are many scopes of expanding their role and it should be increased from 94:6 per cent ratio has to be increased at least up to 20 per cent in the coming time.
Lauding the role of the Force, he further said that during the Covid period when hundreds of our own people were coming from abroad under 'Vande Bharat', the CISF personnel deputed at airports helped them and in this process, they also got infected and many of them lost their lives because of the pandemic and paid tributes to them.
Shah also said that as of now the CISF has been providing security to 354 industrial units, 65 airports and important installations like government buildings, coal, steel sectors, ISRO and their role will be expanded in the future, therefore, the force needs to anticipate these avenues and get themselves prepared accordingly.
A Bihar cadre IPS officer of 1986 batch, Singh was working as the Special Director in the Intelligence Bureau (IB).
National Security Guard (NSG) DG M.A. Ganapathi was holding additional charge of the CISF as of now. The post of DG fell vacant after former DG Subodh Kumar Jaiswal was appointed as Director of the Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) in May 2021.
The Central Industrial Security Force came into existence in 1969 to provide integrated security cover to certain sensitive public sector undertakings with a strength of only three battalions. The force has since grown into a premier multi-skilled organisation with a present strength of 1,63,590 personnel.
The CISF at present provides security cover to 352 establishments through the length and breadth of the country. The force also has its own fire wing which provides services to 104 of the above establishments.
The CISF security umbrella includes India's most critical infrastructure facilities like nuclear installations, space establishments, airports, seaports, power plants etc.
Post the Mumbai terror attacks of November 2008, the mandate of CISF was broadened to provide security cover to private corporate establishments also. The CISF also provides security consultancy services to private entities.
The 56-year-old actor posted a video on her Instagram page on Thursday evening and said she is "totally hurt" to go through the "grill" at the airports every time she is flying.
"Totally hurt ....each time going through this grill is very very hurting....hope my message reaches the state and the central govt authorities....and expecting a prompt action..." she wrote.
In the video, which seems to be shot at an airport, Chandran first introduced herself.
"This is a very personal note that I want to tell our dear Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi ji. This is an appeal to the central government and the state government.
"I am Sudhaa Chandran, an actress and dancer by profession, who has danced with an artificial limb and created history and made my country very proud of me," the actor said.
Chandran said she has requested the airport authorities on a number of occasions to conduct an "ETD (Explosive Trace Detector) for her artificial limb" but they always ask her to remove it.
"Every time I go on my professional visits, each time, I am stopped at the airport, and when I request them at the security, to the CISF officials, that please do an ETD (Explosive Trace Detector) test for my artificial limb, they still want me to remove my artificial limb and show it to them. Is it humanly possible, Modi ji?
"Is this what our country is talking about? Is this the respect that a woman gives another woman in our society? It is my humble request to you Modi ji that please give us a card just like senior citizens have," she said in the video.
Chandran lost right leg at the age of 16 in 1981. She got injured in an accident and was later admitted to a hospital, where doctors had to amputate her leg after discovering gangrene formation.
She subsequently regained some mobility with the help of a prosthetic Jaipur foot. Since then, she has been performing as a professional dancer as well as acting in films and television shows.
As per reports, the CISF officer who hails from Odisha has turned into a ‘real hero’ overnight after showcasing his diligence and dedication to duty. In the video the 'Ek Tha Tiger' actor could be seen emerging out of his car, putting on his mask and walking towards the airport entrance.
This is when the CISF officer stopped him at the gate asking him to join the queue for document verification. Salman Khan appeared to be surprised at first but later followed the instruction of the young officer to join the queue.
As per reports, the young officer named Somnath Mohanty is a native of Ghanta Sahi near Panikoili of Nayagarh district. After the video of the incident went viral on social media, the officer was heaped with admirations by netizens.
Salman Khan was reportedly on his way at the airport to leave for Russia to shoot for the upcoming flick Tiger 3. The CISF officer’s meticulous act of a real life hero has won many hearts in the internet.
As per reports, the injured identified as Badani Mishra (79) of Saradhapur village was seated in front of her house this morning when a bullet hit her chest.
The bullet first hit the wall of her house and then bounced towards her and hit her chest causing injury, informed sources.
Badani was immediately rushed to the Angul district headquarters hospital where she was operated. "The bullet has been recovered and her condition is stable now," informed family sources.
The mishap took place during a practice session by the CISF personnel at the ground. Though residential areas are located one km away from the firing practice ground, probe is on to find out under what circumstance the bullet hit the elderly woman, said police.
“A case will be lodged and probe will be carried out to find out the distance between the spot where she was seated and the practice ground and what led to the mishap. The injured woman is currently out of danger,” stated Harihar Pani, Angul Sub Divisional Police Officer (SDPO).
The victim's son Bijaya Kumar Mishra informed that bullets landing in the village is a regular affair. "This is not the first time. Earlier too, bullets have been found in the village,” said Mishra.

Meanwhile, Nalco police is investigating the case.
Beginning June 1, five airports - Chennai, Jaipur, Lucknow, Patna, Trivandrum and Guwahati, will end stamping ''security checked" on handbags of passengers of domestic flights.
O P Singh, CISF director-general said it will also begin trial of ending handbag stamping for a week at five airports including Bhubaneswar. The other four airports for the week-long trial are Varanasi, Goa, Vishakhapatnam and Pune where stamping of handbags will be stopped temporarily for now and may completely stop later.
CISF had also stopped handbag stamping at Delhi, Mumbai, Kolkata, Bangalore, Hyderabad, Ahmedabad and Cochin from April 1.
Singh said the handbag stamping will also be done with for international flyers in future. The CISF chief said that increasing number of surveillance cameras and 24x7 power back up will help ensure safety even without stamping screened handbags which rather delays the checking in process for passengers.
Tripartite training regarding entry of intruders through coastal areas and security measures were included in the exercise. Importance was given on providing awareness and training to the fishermen.
Odisha Government is taking various steps to secure its coastal areas following the Mumbai attack. Coastal security has been beefed up after knowing that terrorists are intruding into the country through sea routes.
The marine department of the port, Directorate of Fisheries, Central Industrial Security Force (CISF) and Odisha Disaster Rapid Action Force (ODRAF) also took part in the joint exercise.
Talking to media persons Paradip ASP Gadadhar Pradhani said, “The motive of the exercise was to prepare ourselves for attack of enemy forces, how we will be able to meet their challenges and strike back. What we learned from the training will be analysed in later days and steps will be taken to identify the security measures that needs improvement.
Training Officer of Marine Police Brahmananda Swain said, “We are checking the identities of the fishermen, providing them awareness and asking them to inform us if they see any terrorists coming via sea route.”
Sources said the youth was detained by the CISF personnel at the airport while he was carrying the cash amount in a bag. He was later handed over to Income Tax (IT) officials for interrogation.
More details are awaited…
The cops nabbed the dacoits while attempting to loot Rs 60 lakh from an official of a business house located in the Mancheswar industrial area. While chasing the business house official to execute the loot, the dacoits were held by the QAT personnel.
A pistol, live bullets and weapons were seized from the arrested dacoits.

Source said the four dacoits, who were staying at a lodge in Cuttack, had been watching the activities of the business house for past seven days in Bhubaneswar.
Official sources said the Odisha police will form a special team to investigate the matter.
Reports published in national media said head constable Chettiparambil Jose P. Joseph, a native Kattipara, Kerala, had gone missing on April 12 while on his way home from Assam, where he was posted. When he did not arrive at home, his wife Leticia filed a ‘missing’ complaint with the Malappuram police on February 14.
Kerala police launched a massive search operation to find the missing jawan. Though it had forwarded Jose’s photos and other details to their Odisha counterparts, after tracking his mobile call details, no action was allegedly taken by the latter to trace him.
Meanwhile, on February 17, Jose’s body was found near the railway track. Reportedly, the corpse lay unattended near the railway track for six days. The decomposed body was shifted to hospital only after a police team from Malappuram, reached Balugaon. It was also alleged by Kerala police that the Government Railway Police (GRP) also failed to take any action in this regard.
The Kerala police team has also recovered the mobile phone used by Jose from a local woman, the reports stated.
Kerala police suspect that Jose was killed after he accidentally fell off the moving train, but establishing the real cause would be delayed due to the indifferent attitude of the Odisha police.
The latest initiative of doing away with the tagging and stamping of hand baggage, handling increasing passenger footfalls smoothly, curtesy and helpfulness of CISF personnel, restoring forgotten items of the passengers, and feeling of being safe and secure by passengers and visitors under CISF security cover were taken into account while deciding the award, an official said.
"CISF security cover at the Chhatrapati Shivaji International Airport, Mumbai, has been adjudged as the best airport security by the World Quality Congress (WQC)," Central Industrial Security Force (CISF) spokesperson Hemendra Singh said.
The awards announced by the WQC, an independent organisation guided by an advisory council, are based on independent evaluation by the WQC jury, the official said.
The CISF has been providing security coverage to the CSIA, the second busiest and hypersensitive airport in India, since August 21, 2002.
Over 5,000 CISF personnel are currently deployed for the protection of CSIA from where nearly 4.1 crore passengers travelled safely during 2015-16, the official said.
In July, a WQC survey adjudged CISF security cover at Delhi's Indira Gandhi International Airport as best. Last year also, a survey was conducted by the Airport Service Quality (ASQ) wherein security of Delhi Airport was adjudged best among other international airports like Dallas, Heathrow, Paris and Dubai.
The award function will be held in the second week of October at Dubai Mall in Dubai.
The about 1.80 lakh personnel-strong paramilitary force is tasked to secure 59 civil airports in the country at present.
A total of 17 airports are stamp-free in the country at present, with four airports joining the new protocol yesterday.
The Central Industrial Security Force (CISF), tasked to secure 59 civil airports against terror and security threats, will soon launch a trial of the new system at Amritsar, Chandigarh, Varanasi, Udaipur, Dibrugarh, Nagpur, Managalore, Trichy, Pune and Ranchi airports.
"We will be conducting the trial at ten more airports. Once the trials are successful, we would be bringing these ten airports under the stamp-free hand baggage regime by this month end or early October," CISF Director General O P Singh.
The force, alog with other aviation security stakeholders, had started the regime at the Jaipur, Guwahati, Lucknow and Trivandrum, Patna and Chennai airports from June 1.
It has already done away with the system at seven other air facilities in Delhi, Mumbai, Cochin, Bengaluru, Hyderabad, Kolkata and Ahmedabad, since April 1.
Sources in aviation security said two airports at Bhubaneswar and Bagdogra could also have been brought under the new regime, with the four airports of Coimbatore, Kolkata, Indore and Vadodara yesterday, but some "infrastructural issues" delayed the move.
The trial at the ten fresh airports will ensure that adequate security gadgets and logistics are provided at these facilities so that tight security measures are in place once the stamping of the hand baggage tags procedure is discontinued.
By having the stamped tags on the hand baggage, the security personnel used to be assured that no weapon or ammunition like material enters the aircraft. It also pin points the accountability on the CISF personnel who clear the baggage.
With the deployment of smart cameras and re-positioning of security paraphernalia at the ten airports after the trial period, the same objective is being achieved.
The old stamping of hand baggage bags procedure had been a major irritant for passengers and they have made many complaints in this regard to airport authorities saying the system poses hassles for them as it consumes time and in case they forget to get it tagged, security personnel would ask them to go back and get it done.
A committee comprising officials of the CISF, the Bureau of Civil Aviation Security (BCAS) and the airport operators has been constituted early this year by the government to smoothen the rollout of this new protocol at all the 59 airports guarded by the paramilitary force.
DG Singh had maintained that the new measure will enhance "passenger experience and provide hassle-free security environment to them" while travelling through the airports.
The new protocols are only meant for domestic passengers and those travelling to international destinations will have to get their hand baggage tags stamped as usual.
Officials said the incident occurred around 9:00 PM when strong winds shattered the glass panel of the main departure gate of the airport and a bullet proof glass placed atop a security post (morcha) of the CISF fell and cracked.
A trolley gate and a door-frame metal detector at the airport also suffered damage after they were brought to the ground by strong winds, they said.
No person was injured in these incidents, they added.
The city experienced rains in the evening in the wake of cyclonic storm 'Maarutha' that was expected to hit the state.
The trouble started when an Airport Authority of India (AAI) official entered a high security area of the airport around 9:30 p.m. and a CISF personnel on duty approached him to conduct a body search.
Police sources said that an argument broke out between the two and the gun of the CISF personnel was forcibly taken away from him. In the melee, the gun went off and a bullet hit the CISF personnel, identified as Jaipal Yadav, who dropped dead.
Three of Yadav's colleagues were also injured in the incident.
Following the incident, two flights were diverted to the Kochi airport as they did not get the security clearance after a group of employees began a protest on the runway.
Kerala Home Minister Ramesh Chennithala said he has asked the additional director general of police, N. Shankar Reddy, to reach the airport and has also ordered to deploy additional police force in the area.
Sources said that confrontations between AAI staff and CISF personnel at the Kozhikode airport were a common thing.
State director general of police T.P. Senkumar said the situation was under control.
Mukesh Kumar Tokas, 40, of the Central Industrial Security Force (CISF), shot himself dead around around 3 a.m. while he was on duty at the New Delhi station.
"The constable was taken to nearby Lok Nayak Jai Prakash Narayan Hospital, but was declared brought dead," a senior Delhi Police officer told IANS.
According to police, the deceases was a resident of west Delhi's Alipur area but stayed in a rented accommodation at Bijwasan in southwest Delhi with his wife, son and a daughter.
He returned from leave Dec 28.
Describing the sequence of the incident, the officer said Tokas was deputed at the Metro station with another constable, Himangshu Pandey.
"Around 2.15 a.m. Thursday both the constables went out of the Metro station to check the outside of the premisis," the officer told IANS.
Pandey returned to the station at around 2.45 a.m. while Tokas stayed back outside, he said.
"After 15 minutes suspecting something wrong, Pandey went out to check. He saw Tokas aiming his service rifle at his head. Pandey tried to intervene but Tokas, within seconds, shot himself," the officer said.
A CISF officer said: "We have not been able to figure out the exact reason behind the suicide as there was no indication of anything adverse."
"It seems like Tokas was depressed over some family issues," the officer told IANS.
The Central Industrial Security Force (CISF) which looks after the airport's internal security has been asked to be on alert and keep a tab on the activities of every person.
Besides, Delhi Police, which is in charge of security outside the airport, was also put on alert.
"Security has been extended and policemen have been increased," Deputy Commissioner of Police (IGI) M.I. Haider told IANS.
CISF spokesperson Hemendra Singh said security has been tightened since the last two months.
"Flights going to Afghanistan are being monitored carefully," he said.
Air India officials were not available for comment even after repeated attempts.

The order, which will also have implications for thousands of officers, will be effective with immediate effect for the Central Reserve Police Force (CRPF), Border Security Force (BSF), Indo-Tibetan Border Police (ITBP), Sashastra Seema Bal (SSB), Central Industrial Security Force (CISF) and Assam Rifles.
It follows a Delhi High Court's January end judgment in which it struck down rules that prescribed different retirement ages for different ranks and directed the Central government to fix a uniform age of superannuation for all ranks.
At present, the retirement age of officers of the rank of commandant and below in Central Armed Police Forces (CAPFs), or paramilitary forces, is fixed at 57 years while officers of the rank of Deputy Inspector General and above retire on attaining the age of 60.
The retirement age for all officers in the Assam Rifles and the CISF, which are part of CAPFs, is already 60 years.
Those who have got an interim stay between the date of High Court judgment and date of Home Ministry's order will be deemed to have not superannuated and will be governed by age of retirement at 60 years, the order said.
"Those who have retired but did not approach any court will be governed by the court order dated February 4, 2019 clarifying para 72 of original order dated January 31, 2019 in (ITBP Deputy Commandant) Dev Sharma case (supra) and hence will be entitled to exercise options either for joining after returning all pensionary benefits, if received or will have an option to have benefit of fitment of pension on completion of age of 60 years."
As per the order, all forces are directed to comply with the court orders.
It said that forces may amend provisions of rules as applicable on line of the court's January 31 order and also to decide the date from which such change will be effected.
The Delhi High Court, however, did not allow stay retirement of any personnel as per the existing age of retirement who might have retired before passing the order except that in the event of enhancement of retirement age, the differential period will be added to the period of service actually rendered for the purpose of pension.
Disposing of a bunch of petitions, a division bench of Justice S. Muralidhar and Justice Sanjeev Narula had directed the Ministry of Home Affairs to take all consequential steps within four months to take a decision on the retirement age.
Although 29 officers from the ITBP, BSF and CRPF had filed petitions challenging the rules, the bench directed that its orders will be implemented across the board for all members of the CAPFs without the respondents insisting on each of them approaching the court for identical relief.
Incidentally, retirement ages are different for different ranks as well as for various branches in the defence forces.

"They work diligently and unhurriedly to ensure our safety and sometimes are met with either indifference or irritability as we go about our lives. They deserve our patience, courtesy and respect for tirelessly working to keep us secure. Respect and deep gratitude to him and all the Forces for their commitment to the country and citizens."
"I couldn't let him leave without thanking him for his sacrificial service towards our country... Salute the CISF and the Armed Forces," Vidyut added.

Based on the complaint, the accused constable who hails from Tamil Nadu was arrested and is now being interrogated.
Details awaited.
The Central Industrial Security Force guards about 60 civil airports in the country and has an elite VVIP security wing under its command called the Special Security Group (SSG).
The Union Home Ministry has recently given approval for the creation of about 2,000 posts in the CISF, a senior official said on Tuesday.
With the sanctioned posts, from constables to the inspector level, the CISF can raise two more battalions (1,000 personnel each) within the next two years, the official said.
The current strength of the CISF is about 1.8 lakh personnel.
The CISF guards civil airports, nuclear plants, power stations, vital government buildings, Delhi Metro besides a host of other key installations.
The government is also all set to hand over the security-related duties at Srinagar and Jammu airports to the CISF by the end of this month. The CISF will replace the Jammu and Kashmir Police in these two airports.
The government has already made it clear its intention of entrusting more and more civil airports to the CISF and an increasing its task in the domain of VVIP security.
The augmentation of the CISF strength is part of this exercise, another official said.
After it was tasked to secure vital infrastructure in the private domain post the 2008 Mumbai terror attacks, the forces' role in this domain is also increasing with about a dozen private-sector facilities already under its command, the official said.

It will be the first time in the Delhi Metro when passengers will not have to go through physical frisking by the security personnel of the Central Industrial Security Force (CISF) -- whose over 12,500 personnel, including women, currently guard the Metro in round-the-clock eight-hour shifts. The CISF has been guarding the Delhi Metro since April 15, 2007.
The new method will be followed among other mandatory norms by all CISF personnel deputed near X-Ray baggage scanner machine gates from where passengers get entry inside stations.

As physical frisking will not be there, it does not mean that security is being compromised. This is to maintain social distancing between the CISF personnel and the passengers only to contain the spread of novel coronavirus or COVID-19 disease which till Sunday has affected 116 personnel of the paramilitary force
As a total of 29 CISF personnel deputed in the Delhi Metro Rail Corporation (DMRC) have been found COVID-19 positive till Sunday, "no physical frisking" move of the force is only to maintain distancing from passengers. It will protect both passengers as well as the on-duty CISF personnel.
Explaining "No beep at DFMD (Door Frame Metal Detector), no frisking" move, a senior CISF official, requesting anonymity, told IANS that "it does not mean that security will be compromised".
"If beep sound comes when a passenger crosses through the DFMD door, he or she will be stopped and they will be asked to take out the metal carried by them. If the DFMD door does not make a beep sound, the passenger will be allowed to proceed without frisking which used to be done earlier," the official said.
The official, however, maintained there will be more changes in the norms soon after the new guidelines of lockdown 4.0 are announced.
Stopped since March 22, Delhi Metro's 248 stations are guarded by the CISF and the force is also responsible for providing security to the passengers on the 345 km network in what is the safest mode of transport which used to ferry around 32 lakh people per day before the lockdown.
Among the other precautions checked by the CISF would be the Aarogya Setu app in the mobile phone of every passenger, wearing masks and maintaining social distancing.
The crowds at the Metro stations will also be checked by the CISF personnel and people will not be allowed to enter if there are enough people already inside the station.

If needed, the entry gates will be closed, the official said.
The official added that thermal screening of all passengers will be done and those having flu-like symptoms will be barred from entering.
A dedicated CISF team will intermittently check the seating arrangements to ensure that passengers sit on alternate seats. The force will also allow only limited people to stand inside the trains, the official said.
Hand sanitisers will be arranged at the entry and exit points of each station to avoid virus spread and the guards on direct contact duty will be wearing face masks and hand gloves.
Quick Reaction Teams of the CISF will be provided Personnel Protective Equipment (PPE) kits so as to maintain security as well as provide help to passengers in need.
Though a decision has not been taken by the Centre on when Metro services will resume as the third phase of the nationwide lockdown ends on Sunday, the CISF is prepared with detailed norms when Metro rides will be given the nod.

With the help of this new digital initiative, pensioners will get connected to the Central Industrial Security Force (CISF) units spread across the country, and receive invitations, over SMS, on important occasions in the nearest unit.
Apart from an inbuilt grievance redressal mechanism, all important circulars like job opportunities and benefits pertaining to pensioners can also be accessed using this Android app.
The digital platform undoubtedly not only motivates and increases the self-esteem of such personnel, who devoted their life in guarding the nation's assets even at the remotest location of the country, but will also boost their morale and provide them support at a time when they are needed to be cared for, the CISF said.
The new initiative was launched on Friday under the guidance of CISF Director General Rajesh Ranjan by creating the app to get in touch with the pensioners and to bring them on to the digital platform, which will offer 'a one-stop solution'.
'Pensioners Corner' will be available in both web and Android platforms with the facility for pensioners to access their data on the move, said the CISF -- the over 1.60 lakh strong Central Armed Police Force (CAPF) which is responsible for providing security to almost 60 airports across the country, the Delhi Metro Rail Corporation (DMRC), various government buildings and many more strategic locations.
In a statement, the CISF said it always considers its retired personnel to be a "cynosure" of the organisation.
To tackle the unforeseen Covid-19 situation and ensure the continuity of the functions in its offices, the CISF had also recently launched web application "e-Karyalay", which digitally replicates traditional file movement.
To handle various security-related concerns and to pace with the existing standards, it has embodied the digital signature feature. This application has been hosted at the CISF cloud having all security arrangements in place to safeguard the data.
Further, a data recovery site has also been established to maintain round the clock services of e-Karyalay.
With CISF establishments spread across the country, the journey to a completely paperless office was not easy but the CISF took up the big challenge of replacing the five-decade-old system prevalent in the force. Movement of files between offices has been replaced by the digitalmovement of files and delay in file processing has also been reduced as physical presence in the office for this.
It has proven to be a blessing for officers having charge of multiple offices who earlier used to travel from one office to another for signing files. On a national level also, frequent movement of personnel for movement of files, service books and other official documents have been curbed, leading to immense savings in the TA/DA expenditure, a CISF official said on condition of anonymity.
This "Green Initiative" by the CISF has also saved a substantial amount of government money to the tune of almost Rs 1 crore, said the CISF.
It said that the cost of making the requisite app was found on the higher side and involving lengthy time on a market survey, and the "challenge was undertaken by the tech branch of the force headquarters to make the app in-house to save the cost and time. The force has taken e-governance to the last man in the field and has furthered the vision of digital India".

Earlier, the Bihar Police had claimed that the firing was done by some anti-social elements and not by the police.
The violence took place as the locals were on their way to immerse the Durga idol at the end of the Navratri days.
