"Online applications are invited from interested candidates for engagement of Act Apprentices for imparting training under the Apprentices Act 1961 in the designated trades at Workshops/ Units in the jurisdiction of Central Railway against 2422 slots," read the official notification.
The last date to apply for the Central Railway posts is February 16, 2022. As per the official notice, "Applications complete in all respects should be submitted only online till 17:00 hrs. of the closing date."
Central Railway Posts and Vacancies:
The recruitment drive will be carried out to recruit a total of 2422 Apprentices positions. The job location of the same will be Jalgaon, Mumbai.
Selection Procedure:
Selection of candidates will be done on the basis of merit list prepared in respect of all the candidates who apply against the notification.
The merit list will be prepared on the basis of percentage of marks in matriculation (with minimum 50% aggregate marks) + ITI marks in the trade in which Apprenticeship is to be done. The panel will be on the basis of simple average of marks in the matriculation and ITI.
Age Limit:
Candidates should have completed 15 years of age and should not have completed 24 years of age as on 17-01-2022. The upper age limit is relaxable by 05 years in case of SC/ST candidates and 03 years in case of OBC candidates.
Educational Qualification:
Candidates applying must have passed 10th class examination or its equivalent (under 10+2 examination system) with minimum 50% marks, in aggregate, from recognised Board and also possess National Trade Certificate in the notified trade issued by the National Council for Vocational Training or Provisional Certificate issued by National Council for Vocational Training / State Council for Vocational Training.
Payment of Fees:
Applicants will have to pay Rs 100 as Application fees, which is non-refundable. The payment will have to be made online through the payment gateway mentioned in the official notification.

Mode of Selection
Selection will be done on the basis of merit list prepared in respect of all the candidates who apply against the notification. The merit list will be prepared on the basis of percentage of marks in matriculation (with minimum 50% (aggregate marks) + ITI marks in the trade in which Apprenticeship is to be done.
For the purpose of calculation of percentage of matriculation, marks obtained by the candidates in all subjects will be reckoned and not on the basis of marks of any subject or a group of subjects.

For the purpose of calculation of percentage of ITI marks, average marks mentioned in consolidated statement of marks for all semesters of the trade applied/marks mentioned in the Provisional National Trade Certificate issued by NCVT / SCVT, will only be reckoned, the notification read.

JUNIOR CLERK
Educational qualification: Candidate applying for the post should have passed 12th (10+2 stage) or its equivalent examination, on the date of notification with not less than 50% marks in aggregate. He/she should have Typing speed of 30 w.p.m. in English / 25 w.p.m. in Hindi. However, the aggregate 50% marks is relaxable for candidates belonging to SC/ST/Ex-servicemen category.
Those selected for Junior Clerk posts will be under pay matrix of Level-2 of 7th Central Pay Commission.
SENIOR CLERK
Educational qualification: Degree from recognized University or its equivalent.
Those selected for Senior Clerk posts will be under pay matrix of Level-5 of 7th Central Pay Commission.
Age as on January 1, 2020: The maximum age limit for appearing in the examination is UR - 42 years, OBC - 45 Years & SC/ST - 47 Years.

Selection Procedure: The selection process will comprise a Computer Based Test (CBT), followed by Typing test, Document Verification and Medical Examination. Tentative date of CBT is February 2020.
