Sources said that the meeting chaired by Pak Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif was not held until it was ensured that the mobile phones of the cabinet members were collected outside the room, the Express Tribune reported.
The state Cabinet headed by Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik took this decision on Thursday. The estimated cost for the project has been enhanced from Rs 432.45 crore to Rs 875.78 crore, said Chief Secretary S.C. Mahapatra.
Information and Broadcasting Minister Anurag Thakur told mediapersons after the Cabinet meeting that the additional amount of Rs 50,000 crore would be given to the hospitality sector till the validity of ECLGS, i.e., till March 31, 2023. ECLGS is an ongoing scheme.
The cabinet has approved to set up a Dharmasala worth Rs 135 crore for the sake of tourists in Puri district.
The meeting will be chaired by Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik via video conferencing.
