Bappi Lahiri in a throwback video can be seen revealing his formula for making hit songs.

Lahiri, 69, breathed his last around 11.45 p.m. the CritiCare Hospital on Tuesday night and Bappa returned from the US early today for performing the funeral rituals.

When many contemporary music composers are recreating and remixing several songs of the old era, , Bappi used to think of the future and composed the tune of his songs that were ahead of his time, and that still drives the youths crazy; be it a marriage procession or at dance/nightclubs.

Bappi Lahiri created some astounding work, collaborated with international singers, and also made it to Gunness Book of Records.

Lahiri, who popularised disco music in Indian cinema in the 80s and 90s, died following multiple health issues on Tuesday night at the CritiCare Hospital in Juhu.

Prime Minister Narendra Modi led the tributes, saying Lahiri's lively nature will be missed by everyone.

The singer-composer, a familiar figure for many with his trademark gold chains that he wore for luck and his sunglasses, was known for his songs in several films of the late 70s-80s.
