According to sources, a 5-member team of the SFIO visited the Jharpara jail and is interrogating the accused.

AT chief, Pradeep Sethy along with arrested Manoj Patnaik, Jyotiprakash Jayprakash, Srikrushna Padhi and Deepak Parekh are being interrogated by the SFIO officials.
“The investigation is going on and it will take another 3-4 days. After our investigation is complete, we will give all the information,” said additional director of SFIO, Manoj Kumar Sahoo.
Reacting to the development, Jharpada jail superintendent said, “Nothing major has happened to Pradip. He is safe. His suicide bid was just to threaten the jail authorities.”
“He is in the ward after getting required treatment from the jail doctor. An extra warder has been deployed to keep an eye on him,” the superintendent added.
Sources said Sethy's wife visited the jail on Sunday morning to enquire about his health. However, she was not allowed to meet her husband as public meeting is prohibited on holidays.
Sethy has been in jail since May 2013 after he was arrested by the state Police Crime Branch.
The Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI), which took over the probe into the chit fund scam in the state following the direction of Supreme Court, has estimated that Aartha Tatwa (AT) group defrauded thousands of depositors of a total of about Rs 1,200 crore.
The action was on expected lines after the Congress leader’s name had cropped in a Rs one core land deal with AT scam accused Mitu Mohanty, who has already been arrested in the case. Choudhury was also under CBI scanner for his suspicious role in the sale transaction of two flats in Bhubaneswar worth over Rs 80 lakhs.
During its investigation, the agency had come to know that Choudhary had the power of attorney for a property belonging to AT Group. The property was sold for Rs 94 lakh to chit fund scam accused Dilip Mohanty, who never paid the amount to the Ponzi firm. Choudhury had also taken some lakhs of rupees and a vehicle from Sethy, investigations have revealed.
Sources in the investigating agency said the Congress leader failed to give satisfactory answers to the queries posed by it during his interrogation.
Along with Choudhury, the central investigating agency has also arrested Orissa High Court lawyer Debasis Panda for his alleged links with AT group chief Pradeep Sethy.
The arrest followed an hour-long interrogation of Sethy by CBI sleuths at Jharpada jail earlier in the day.
Biswal allegedly misappropriated around Rs 40 lakh of AT Group during his association with the company, said sources.
Notably, Biswal was managing the accounts of AT Group, including its bank transactions.
The sources added the CBI might again call Biswal for interrogation.
After the quizzing, Biswal said, “I want depositors to get back their money for which I have been fighting.”
He further stated, “I was sitting at the customer care of AT Group where payment was being made to depositors.”

The association could be explained by an increased secretion of inflammatory markers by belly fat, which has been previously associated with a higher risk of impaired cognition.
Previous studies showed that people who are overweight do not perform as well on tests of memory and visuospatial ability compared to those with an average weight.
"While we have known for some time that obesity is associated with negative health consequences, our study adds to emerging evidence suggesting that obesity and where we deposit our excess weight could influence our brain health. This has significant public health implications," said Conal Cunningham from Trinity College Dublin in Ireland.
For the study, published in the British Journal of Nutrition, the team analysed data from over 5,000 individuals.
These findings may have significant implications as the global prevalence of dementia is predicted to increase from 24.3 million in 2001 to 81.1 million by 2040.
Reducing obesity could offer a cost-effective public health strategy for the prevention of cognitive decline, the researchers noted.
