Panaji: The World Gaming Festival (WGF) has begun on India`s biggest off shore gaming facility--Casino Royale--here with more than 100 people participating in five different games.

"This is happening for the first time in the world that five games are part of such a high profile tournament," Narinder Punj, Managing Director, Highstreet Cruises and Entertainment Pvt Ltd told reporters ahead of the tournament, which kicked off last night.

In all five skill based games like Black Jack, American Roulette, Poker, Baccarat and Indian Flush would be played on the offs-shore casino anchored in Mandovi river over three days.

Punj said that all the participants are Indians and international version of WGF would be unveiled very soon. The organizers claimed that celebrities too will be participating in the festival but prefer to kept their names under wraps.

The organizers said that the participants in this gaming festival are usually youths from urban cities, who are in the age of above 26 years.

"We have the youths from cities of Mumbai, Delhi, Gujarat, Hyderabad and other cities arriving here," Punj said adding there is hardly any participation from locals.

A spokesman said this is one of the very important gaming festivals and casino companies from America are observing it so that they can replicate it there.
