Cuttack: The Orissa Premier League (OPL) T-20 governing body on today came down heavily on the manager of Baleswar Baghas team charging him guilty for his misdemeanours during a match yesterday and suspended him from representing his team for next two matches.

Inviting a stringent penalty for life ban under Level-4 offence, the Baleswar manager Sushanta Rath was also issued a show cause notice by the governing body asking him to explain why life ban will not be imposed against him.

Rath was also asked to furnish his explanation to the OCA secretary Asirbad Behera on or before May 31, failing which action deemed fit would be taken against him.

Rath reportedly manhandled match referee Bikram Mohanty yesterday when the Baleswar team was scheduled to play against Bhubaneswar Jaguars at Railway ground in Bhubaneswar.

The match was abandoned due to rain and both the teams were awarded one point each as per the match playing condition and code of conduct.

Following a report from match referee Mohanty, the OPL governing body today swung into action and found that the Baleswar manager had violated the code of conduct of OPL-2011.

He was charged under Level-4 offences as spelt out in ICC T-20 match playing condition and code of conduct which has also been incorporated by OPL-2011.
