Bhubaneswar: The conspicuous lack of fanfare that one used to see for other sportspersons could not shadow the sense of achievement and pride exuded by Jayanti Behera, who arrived at the Bhubaneswar Railway Station today proudly sporting her two medals won at the China Open Para Athletics Grand Prix championship.

Jayanti won gold in the 400 meters race at the championship by clocking a time of 1.02 minutes.

The timing has made her qualify for the London World Para Athletics championship to be held in July 2017.

Moreover, she also bagged a silver medal in 200 mtr race with a timing of 28.50 seconds.

Jayanti’s performance at the championship was applauded by CM Naveen Patnaik and Union Minister Dharmendra Pradhan both of whom took to twitter to congratulate her.
