Chennai: South African Marais Erasmus and Ian Gould of England were on Monday named as the on-field umpires for the World Cup quarter-final between India and Australia to be held in Ahmedabad, on Thursday.

As the World Cup entered the knock-out phase, the International Cricket Council today appointed the match officials for the quarter-final stage of the tournament.

While Erasmus and Gould will be the on-field umpires, Richard Kettleborough and Asad Rauf of Pakistan has been named as the third umpire and fourth umpire respectively for India-Australia encounter. Sri Lankan Ranjan Madugalle will be the match referee for the game.

The first quarter-final, meanwhile, will take place in Mirpur, Dhaka, on Wednesday between Pakistan and the West Indies where Billy Bowden of New Zealand and Australian Steve Davis have been given the responsibility to don the on-field duty.

England`s Chris Broad will be the match referee while Australian duo of Daryl Harper and Bruce Oxenford will be the third umpire and fourth umpires respectively.

The third quarter-final between South Africa and New Zealand in Mirpur on Friday will be officiated by Aleem Dar and Rod Tucker of Australia while Sri Lankan Kumar Dharmasena and Nigel Llong of England will carry out the duties of third and fourth umpires respectively.

Roshan Mahanama of Sri Lanka has been named as the match referee for the South Africa-New Zealand game.

The fourth and the last quarter-final between Sri Lanka and England in Colombo on Saturday will officiated by Jeff Crowe (match referee), Billy Doctrove and Simon Taufel (both on-field umpires), Tony Hill (third umpire) and Indian Shavir Tarapore (fourth umpire).

March 23 - Pakistan vs West Indies, Mirpur: Chris Broad (match referee), Billy Bowden and Steve Davis (both on-field), Daryl Harper (third umpire), Bruce Oxenford (fourth umpire).

March 24 ? Australia vs India, Ahmedabad: Ranjan Madugalle (match referee), Marais Erasmus and Ian Gould (both on-field), Richard Kettleborough (third umpire), Asad Rauf (fourth umpire).

March 25 ? South Africa vs New Zealand, Mirpur: Roshan Mahanama (match referee), Aleem Dar and Rod Tucker (both on-field), Kumar Dharmasena (third umpire), Nigel Llong (fourth umpire).

March 26 ? Sri Lanka vs England, Colombo: Jeff Crowe (match referee), Billy Doctrove and Simon Taufel (both on-field), Tony Hill (third umpire), Shavir Tarapore (fourth umpire).
