Manchester: Legendary Brazilian footballer Ronaldo believes that England are favourites to clinch the forthcoming European Championship because of their recent good form.

"In the qualifiers they had 10 matches and 10 victories. I think England are the favourites to win. You have the best qualifying performance," Ronaldo was quoted as saying by SunSport on Thursday.

"I would love to see England win. In England people love football so much, you deserve to win with the national team, the three-time world footballer of the year added.

England have never won European Championship and their only World Cup title came 50 years ago. The English players are criticised for being overpaid, underworked and overhyped.

The former Inter Milan and Real Madrid star also praised Manchester United star Marcus Rashford saying that watching the teenage perform, reminded of himself.

The 18-year-old Rashford has burst onto the scene in the second half of the season, scoring four goals in nine English Premier League (EPL) appearances.

And two-time FIFA World Cup winner Ronaldo is impressed by his talents and believes he has a bright future.

"He's a very good young player. I see some of myself in him for sure -- he has courage and he's fast and is very good with the ball," Ronaldo said.

"I think for the strikers they have to be hungry to score and I see that with him. He has an amazing future."

Rashford has been touted as a potential England selection for Euro 2016 because of his form for United.
