Johannesburg: The findings of the audit into irregular IPL and Champions League bonuses allegedly paid to Cricket South Africa staff, including CEO Gerald Majola, have been delayed by a week.

CSA Audit Committee member Archie Pretorius confirmed that the audit team from KPMG had requested the extension to allow full investigation.

The audit team would have met with Majola in the past week, but could not and wants to do so this week.

Majola is a central figure in the payment of 4.7 million rands to himself and 40 other CSA staff by the organisers of the 2009 IPL and Champions League tournaments in South Africa.

CSA President Mtutuzeli Nyoka reinstated the external audit which he had earlier called for before being ousted in absentia from his position. He was reinstated following court action.

Before he restarted the external audit, CSA had its own internal audit which just rapped Majola over the knuckles for the bonuses after he repaid an amount.

The KPMG audit report, which the CSA will present to Sports Minister Fikile Mbalula, is now expected to be ready by July 25.
