Bhubaneswar: Cricket Association for Visually Impaired Odisha (CAVI Odisha) announced its 16-member team for the 6th East Zone and 25th National Cricket Tournament to be held in West Bengal and Mumbai respectively.

The east zone tournament will begin from October 20 and will continue till October 22. Similarly, the national tournament which will commence on October 29 will conclude on November 3.

Based on the performance of players in the two events, the probable 42-member Indian team will be selected for the 5th ODI World Cup for Blind-2018 which is scheduled to begin from January 8, 2018 in Dubai.

"Odisha have won all 5 East Zone championships held earlier and we are confident of repeating the same glory this time. Anil Mallick is the latest addition in the team. We have got a good mixture of young and experienced," team captain Jafar Iqbal told exclusively to odishatv.in

The 16-member team: Md Jafar Iqbal (C), Kalia Pradhan, Tapan Kumar Gauda, Anil Kumar Mallick, Debraj Behera, Pankaj Bhue, Nakula Badnaik, Jujhar Bari, Singrai Majhi, Lalprasad Soren, Sukhram Majhi, Biswanath Khara, Lingraj Rautra, Sukdev Soren (wk), Jogendra Jani (Manager) and Chandrasekhar Patnaik (Coach).
