Patna: BJP national spokesperson Tarun Vijay on Friday said polythene, plastic and puja offerings should not be dumped into the Ganga as part of the efforts to keep the river clean.
Following discussions with Chief Minister Nitish Kumar about the necessity of keeping it clean, Vijay said the Chief Minister was "seriously concerned" about maintaining the cleanliness of the river.
The Chief Minister, he said, told him that he was irrevocably committed towards keeping the river clean, as it was his "long cherished wish". Kumar briefed the BJP spokesman about the special central schemes being implemented to prevent effluents being thrown into the river.
