Bhubaneswar: One of the five terrorists of banned Students' Islamic Movement of India (SIMI), who were arrested from Rourkela yesterday, has confessed to his involvement in the blast carried out in Chennai in 2014.

Zakir, one of the four terrorists arrested by police along with a woman yesterday, has reportedly confessed during interrogation to have been involved, along with his other associate Aijajuddini, in the blast carried out in Chennai. said sources.

According to sources in the police, Zakir has revealed that he had rented a house in Nangamahal area of Bhadrak few months back. However, the house is locked since the past one month, Zakir has reported revealed. Meanwhile, police forces have cordoned off the house fearing presence of explosives.

The blast in question was carried out on May 1, 2014 on the Kaziranga Express at Chennai.

Notably, Aijajuddin was killed in a police encounter in Nalgonda district Telangana last April.
