Berhampur: An undertrial prisoner Berhampur Circle jail in Ganjam district fell unconscious and was declared dead in hospital.
The prisoner Narasingh Mohanty fell unconscious and was declared dead when the prison staff took him to the MKCG Medical College and Hospital here yesterday, in-charge jail superintendent S K Rout said.
The exact cause of the death would be known after post-mortem, he said. Mohanty was in jail since January 12 last year in an attempt to murder case, Rout said.
