Jagatsinghpur/Balasore: Two persons were killed in two separate road mishaps in Jagatsinghpur and Balasore on Sunday.

In the first incident, an 11-year-old boy was killed after being hit by a Tata Ace vehicle in Jagatsinghpur today. He was on his way to attend a tuition class.

The boy was first rushed to the Biridi Commuity Health Centre and later to the SCB Medical College and Hospital in Cuttack where he breathed his last.

After news of the death spread, irate locals blocked the Kandarpur-Jagatsinghpur road demanding compensation for the victim.

In the second incident, four members of a family on a bike were hit by another bike speeding from the opposite direction near Remunda Kathpal in Balasore. While one person was killed on spot, three others were left critically injured.

The men riding on the other bike fled from the spot after the incident, informed police.
