Bhubaneswar: The Odisha Truck Owners' Association has extended its support to the nationwide indefinite strike called by the All India Motor Transport Congress (AIMTC) tomorrow after the central government failed to address its long pending issues and concerns.

The secretary of the Odisha Truck Owners' Association, Rabi Satpathy informed that the strike will begin at 6 AM tomorrow during which all the trucks will remain off road.

Vice-president of Bhubaneswar Goods Transport Association (BGTA), Sangram Das said that the strike will continue as the talks between the Centre and the AIMTC failed.

"The strike will begin at 6 AM on July 20 demanding regulation of diesel prices and fulfilment of some other demands. The decision of indefinite strike was taken after the talks between the Government and the AIMTC failed,” Das said.

The association has demanded reduction in diesel prices by including it in Goods and Services Tax (GST) list, uniform pricing, quarterly revision of fuel prices, toll barrier free movement for trucks across the country to prevent losses.
