Bhubaneswar: Power scarcity has further worsened in the state with technical glitch hitting two units of Odisha Power Generation Corporation’s (OPGC) IB Thermal Power Station at Banharpali on Monday afternoon. With a capacity of 210MW each, the units supply power to the state through Grid Corporation of Odisha (Gridco). The technical issues have though reportedly affected production of the plant, officials said that the units would be back to normal production soon.

During peak hour the state needs about 3300MW power on a daily basis while these days it was only able to receive 2700MW from all sources due to fall in power production.
