Bhubaneswar: A sand sculpture of Rabindranath Tagore created by internationally acclaimed sand artist Sudarsan Pattnaik was unveiled on Puri sea beach on Tuesday.

About seven tons of sand was used to create the 8 feet sculpture unveiled by Frida Zaric, Counsellor, the Embassy of Sweden in India, a press release by Pattnaik said here.

This was done as part of the Embassy of Sweden's plans to celebrate the 100-year anniversary of Rabindranath Tagore's winning the Nobel Prize.

The Sand Sculpture is indeed a unique way to honour the poet, Zaric said.

On this occasion, Frida Zaric felicitated sand artist Pattnaik and lauded his creativity.
