Standing tall in international fashion

Come February, Odia fabrics may find a place in the prestigious New York fashion week. In its fall winter collection 2013 edition, New York fashion week may showcase clothes having distinct impression of Odia handlooms designed by US based fashion designer Bibhu Mohapatra, who hails from Odisha. Speaking exclusively to OTV from his New York studio, the designer who was born in steel city Rourkela and a member of the Council of Fashion Designers of America, shares his experience on designing dress for the first lady of USA, his upcoming assignment with Hollywood actress Glenn Close, his long journey from a small city in Odisha to the high and mighty of Hollywood fashion world and his career plans.
