Sisters attempt suicide in Bargarh; one dies, another critical

Bargarh: Two sisters allegedly tried to end their lives by hanging from the ceiling of their house at Nigamananda Vihar under Town police station here on Monday late night.

The sisters Gudiya Sharma (23) and Priyanka Sharma (21), were natives of Bihar and had been living with their family in Bargarh town since 20 years.

Although family members rescued the duo and rushed them to the Bargarh District Headquarters Hospital (DHH), Priyanka died while undergoing treatment.

The condition of Gudiya who is admitted to the DHH is stated to be critical, informed said sources. The exact reason behind the extreme step by the two is yet to be ascertained. Police has registered an unnatural death case and investigating the incident.
