Sarathi appears in SC, ST court

Cuttack: Arrested godman Santosh Roul alias Sarathi Baba was on Saturday produced before the Special SC and ST Court by the State Crime Branch.

On the basis of complaint no - 17/2015, Sarathi, along with Santosh Gochayat, were produced in the court. However, the foster son of Sarathi Satyam Roul and three others did not depose in the court.

Commenting on the case, a lawyer said, “The SDJM court had made a commitment on hearing on the case at the SC and ST court. As four accused did not appear today, the court has directed all the accused to appear before it on April 2.”

After the appearance of all the accused, charges will be framed following which the judicial process will begin, the lawyer added.
