Road blockade after college student dies in mishap

Baripada: Tension ran high in Kuliana block in Odisha’s Mayurbhanj district following the death of a college student in a road accident on Tuesday morning.

The deceased, identified as Siba Shankar Jena, a Plus Three final year student of BB College and a native of Ward no-15 in Baripada town, was on the way to the college on a bike to appear in the annual examination when a private bus coming from the opposite site, collided head-on with the bike at Kalabadia Chhak killing him on the spot.

Soon, irate students of BB College rushed to the mishap site and blocked the road disrupting vehicular traffic. Following information, Kuliana police rushed to the spot and pacified the students.

The body was later taken to district headquarters hospital at Baripada for post mortem.
