Rayagada Youth dies of dengue in Vishakhapatnam

Rayagada: A youth diagnosed with dengue in Sulva village of Rayagada died at a hospital in Vishakhapatnam. The deceased identified as Mishal Rabi Kumar had been admitted to the hospital on Sunday and succumbed to the deadly disease after two days.

Earlier, Kumar was undergoing treatment at the Rayagada district headquarters hospital but was shifted to Vishakhapatnam after his condition worsened.

Dengue scare had gripped the Sadar block of Rayagada district in June after many residents in the locality, especially Biranarayanpur, suffered from frequent fever and body ache.

While doctors had visited the area and prescribed medicine to the affected people, the Health department collected blood samples and sent them to the Koraput Public Health Laboratory for tests. In the first phase, 42 blood samples were collected.
