Raja death: Court grants conditional bail to Jessy

Balasore: The Balasore District and Sessions Judge Court on Tuesday granted conditional bail to television actress Jessy alias Pralipta Priyadarshini, who was arrested on charges of abetting the suicide of choreographer-turned-television serial actor Ranjit Pattnaik alias Raja.

She was given bail on a surety of Rs 20, 000 and two bailers on the condition that she would cooperate with the investigation and not try to influence witnesses in the case.

She had moved the District and Sessions Court on February 20 seeking bail. The court, after admitting the bail application, had posted the hearing for March 1.

She has been lodged at Soro sub-jail after her plea was rejected by Judicial Magistrate First Class (JMFC) at Soro. She has been booked under section 306 of IPC.

On the other hand, the health condition of the young actress is deteriorating by the day as she is reluctant to take proper diet in the jail, sources said.

On February 23, Jessy had been admitted to the Government Hospital at Soro by jail authorities after she vomited several times.
