Bhubaneswar: Family members of city-based businessman Pramod Routray, who was found dead on the outskirts of the capital city on November 8, alleged Routray was murdered with an aim to capture his property on Tuesday.
Routray’s mother said his son’s character should not be assassinated.
She added besides the arrested wife, brother-in-law and father-in-law of the deceased businessman, other persons are also involved in the crime and demanded thorough probe into the murder.
Routray’s elder brother also supported the claims of the mother of the deceased businessman.
Meanwhile, Police Commissioner RP Sharma said Routray was a sexual perverted as understood from the statements of the arrested wife of the deceased during interrogation.
Routray allegedly used to force his wife Trupti to have sexual relationship with other persons and torture her both physically and mentally, added Sharma.
When it became unbearable for her, Trupti planned to kill Routray by giving him sleeping pills and strangulating the businessman with her chuni.
Trupti disposed the body with the help of her brother and father, Sharma added.
