Cuttack: After a tough legal battle, suspended BJD legislator Pravat Tripathy will be a free bird soon as the Orissa High Court today granted him conditional bail on a personal bond of Rs 10 lakh.

While granting the bail, the court also directed him to submit his passport and fully co-operate with the investigators. Sources said the Banki MLA will be released from the jail soon.

Tripathy, a former government chief whip, was earlier denied bail by the lower courts. The High Court also rejected his anticipatory bail application before CBI arrested him on October 31 last year in connection with the Artha Tatwa chit fund scam. He was also suspended from BJD soon after his arrest.
