Bhubaneswar: A police constable allegedly committed suicide by shooting himself from a rifle in Malkangiri.

The constable, identified as Pradip Kumar Ghadai (27) of Binjharpur area in Jajpur district, allegedly killed himself in his room last night after dinner, Superintendent of Police Anirudh Singh said.

The incident came to light this morning after Ghadai was found missing during roll call, he said.

None had heard the gun shot as Ghadai had switched on his television with high volume, police sources said adding he appeared disturbed for sometime due to some family problem.
