Bhubaneswar: The anti-corruption vigilance sleuths today arrested inspector-in-charge (IIC) of Dhauli police station in the city on charges of accepting bribe inside the police station.

The IIC concerned has been identified as Debi Prasad Dash, who was caught red handed with Rs 10,000 as graft.

The IIC was arrested during a trap laid by the vigilance sleuths. Dash had allegedly demanded the money from a man to show him leniency in a criminal case.

The vigilance team also raided Dash's residence in Pokhariput area in the city and seized some documents. Dash was the third cop in the city who has been arrested in a span of five months.

While Rakesh Samantaray, a sub-inspector of Jatni police station was caught with Rs 10,000 bribe on January 7, on December 4, 2014, vigilance personnel arrested Amin Khan, a sub-inspector of Nandankanan police station on charges of accepting bribe of Rs 3,000.
