Bhubaneswar: A six-member delegation of the World Food Programme is on a visit to Odisha to review the Mid-Day Meal scheme in the State. The team will visit four districts and review the Mid-Day meal programme. According to sources, the team will submit a review report to the Central as well as the State government.
The team has also given its suggestions on improving the nutritional quality of the Mid-Day Meal scheme. Equipping vehicles carrying rice and pulses for mid-day meals with GPS, clearly stating the expiry dates of pulses on the packets were some of the suggestions made by the delegation.
Moreover, steps to be taken to keep the rooms used for cooking hygienic were also discussed, said the World Food Programme delegation head Mirjana Kave.
