Jagatsinghpur: Four persons, including a woman and her daughter were killed on Thursday morning in two separate cracker blast cases in Odisha’s Jagatsinghpur and Puri districts.
According to reports, a woman and her daughter were burnt alive in an explosion at a cracker making unit in Kanti village under Balikuda police limits of Jagatsinghpur district.
The deceased have been identified as Jhansirani and Jharana.
Sources said the mishap occurred at around in the wee hours of Thursday while the duo was engaged in making crackers at their house.
However, Nagendra Das, the husband of the deceased woman, had a narrow escape from the accident.
On being informed, the police rushed to the spot and started investigation into the incident.
The police, meanwhile, is also trying to know whether the cracker unit is a registered one or not.
The villagers were in a state of grief following the mishap.
In another similar incident, two persons were also killed in Puri district in a cracker explosion.
