Two crushed under truck in Bhushan plant
Dhenkanal: The Bhushan steel plant near here continues to be in the news for its infamous industrial mishaps, the latest being two truck helpers crushed to death under a truck this morning.
According to sources, the incident took place when a truck entering the plant premises ran over the two helpers while they were sleeping after parking their trucks there last night.
The duo was rushed to the district headquarters hospital here in critical condition where doctor declared them dead on arrival. The deceased have been identified as Chandan Sendha and Situ Pradan, both residents of Rengali area of Angul district.
Meanwhile, police are interrogating the truck drivers. Till the last report came in, the company authorities have not made any statement on the accident.
The company is not new to controversies. Dhenkanal chief district medical officer Sangram Keshari Das had filed a complaint against the company on July 11 for organising a health camp without prior permission. Earlier on July 4, one worker was killed and another sustained critical injuries in an accident in the coke oven of the plant.
