Tikiri lady teacher’s killer yet to be nabbed
Bhubaneswar: Two years have passed since Tikiri Upper Primary School teacher Itishree Pradhan died under mysterious circumstance on November 1, 2013, at a hospital in Vishakapatnam, but the enigma surrounding the death is yet to be cracked.
The Odisha Crime Branch Police, during its probe into the lady teacher’s death case, had managed to arrest the School Inspector Netrananda Dandasena whereas other accused are still at large.
Later the Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) took charge of the probe as per the directive of the Supreme Court in January last year. The central investigating agency was asked by the apex court to submit its probe report by November 4.
The CBI has questioned 42 persons regarding the case. But, family members of Itishree are not happy with the pace of probe as no other accused has been arrested yet.
Notably, kerosene was allegedly poured on Itishree and burnt alive at a house in the premises of the Tikiri UP School on October 23, 2013. She breathed her last at the hospital while undergoing treatment.
Meanwhile, Itishree’s brother Bikram Pradhan hopes the CBI will nab the main accused.
