Bhubaneswar: The Odisha Council of Ministers passed supplementary budget proposal of Rs 10,233 crore today. The proposal, double the amount of last year’s supplementary budget will be tabled in the ensuing Winter Session of Odisha Assembly.
Official sources said, in the backdrop of deficit rainfall and impeding drought, focus has been given on agriculture and its ancillary sectors.
A sum of Rs 1300 crore of demand expenditure has been proposed for the sector, the sources added.
Besides, to continue eight Centrally-sponsored schemes like BRGF (Backward Region Grant Front) and IAP (Integrated Action Plan) in the State, the Odisha government has reportedly decided to grant from its own exchequer.
