Bhubaneswar: The crime branch of Odisha police today arrested seven more accused in connection with the killing of six of a family in Lahanda village under Joda police limits of Keonjhar district on Sunday night.
With this, the number of arrested persons has reached nine, Crime Branch ADG B.K. Sharma told the media.
Two persons were earlier arrested by the police in this connection.
The police have also seized some weapons which were suspected to have been used in the crime, Sharma stated.
A three-member team of State Forensic Laboratory visited the spot to collect evidence.
Meanwhile, the village has worn a deserted look as the police have launched a manhunt to arrest the accused. The State police have put the murder case under red-flag category.
Two relatives of the deceased, who were present in the house on the fateful day, were also attacked and are undergoing treatment in a local hospital.
