Baripada: The world famous Similipal National Park will remain open for the tourists from November 1.
The Forest department had closed the park for the tourists during the monsoon this year.
Like the previous year, tourist vehicles coming from Baripada would be allowed to enter into the park premises via Pithabata check gate while vehicles coming from Jashipur would be allowed to enter into the park via Jamuani check gate.
Talking to the media persons on Sunday, deputy director, Similipal National Park, Ajit Kumar Satpathy said a maximum of 25 vehicles coming from Baripada and 35 vehicles coming from Jashipur would be allowed to enter inside the park between 7 AM and 9 AM.
“As per rules, there will be a forest guide for each tourist vehicle which will be allowed to stay inside the park till 5 PM. We have strictly prohibited picnic inside the park. However, the tourists are allowed to bring dry or cooked food with them in other containers except the plastic bags,” Satpathy said.
As regards the arrangements made by the Forest department for the accommmodation of the tourists inside the park, he said the tourists will have the night halt at Jamuani, Ramatirtha and Gudugudia.
He, however, said the tourists willing to have a night halt inside the park will have to book in advance at the Forest office at Similipal or they can book online through www.similipal.org
