Security tightened in Kandhamal
Kandhamal: Security has been beefed up at Chakapada and Jalespata Ashram for celebration of Swami Laxamananada Saraswati’s 7th death anniversary and Janmastami festival today.
According to sources, security has been tightened in all sensitive points of the communally vulnerable district and police forces have been deployed on Ashram premises to avoid any untoward situation.
Similarly, the security personnel have intensified their checking of vehicles and flag marches are also being conducted at sensitive places of the district, sources added.
Meanwhile, all the arrangements have reached final stages to observe the death anniversary of the seer. Sadhus (seers) from across the country are scheduled to join the celebration of Hindu seer’s death anniversary. On the occasion, rituals like Sankirtan, Nama Yanja, Ghruta Yanja are scheduled to be performed today to commemorate Swamiji’s death day.
Notably, unidentified miscreants had gunned down Saraswati along with his four associates, including an elderly woman, while they were celebrating Janmastami at Jalespeta ashram on August 23, 2008.
