Puri: The East Coast Railway (ECoR) on Friday has changed the departure timing of two trains from Puri station after a major fire broke out on Thursday evening causing damage to at least five bogies of three empty stationary trains.
According to sources, Neelachal express which was schedule to departure at 10:55 am from the station will leave at 6:00 pm for New Delhi.
Similarly, Puri-Tirupati express which was schedule to departure at 12:30 pm from the station will leave for Tirupati at 2:30 pm, the sources added.
Meanwhile, a forensic team headed by Railway SP Sanjay Kaushal has begun investigation into the incident.
The investigative team has also detained two persons on the suspicion of their complicity in the fire incident and interrogating them to reveal more facts about the incident.
Notably, the five bogies – two each of Nandankanan Express and Tirupati Express and one coach of Puri-Howrah Express – were damaged in the incident. The railway station complex was engulfed by thick smoke. At least six fire-tenders were called which took nearly three hours to successfully extinguish the fire.
