Puri Railway Station fire: Main accused taken on 6-day remand
Bhubaneswar: The main accused in Puri Railway Station fire, Ramchandran Subhas has been brought on a 6-day remand by the Bhubaneswar railway police. Ramchandran is currently being interrogated at the Mancheswar railway police station.
According to sources, the police might conduct a polygraph test on him. A team of Railway Protection Force (RPF) is also coming from outside the state to interrogate Ramchandran and there is likelihood that a central investigating team might also question him, added sources.
“Investigation is in progress and nothing can be said right now,” said DSP of Khurda Government Railway Police (GRP) Devendra Kumar Das.
Notably, a major fire broke out at Puri Station on November 3, in which at least five bogies of three empty stationary trains were damaged one after the other. A high level probe was ordered following the incident.
Four suspects were detained by police in connection with the incident.
